Accident Advice Helpline Direct Ltd (AAH) is a claims management company located in Stanmore, Middlesex, Greater London. They specialise in providing information and access to personal injury solicitors under the terms of the conditional fee agreement (CFA), colloquially known as no win no fee in the UK.
History
The company was founded on 1 June 2000 and was originally based in the West End of London, before moving to Golders Green. Initially, the company workforce consisted of six people. The company currently has over 150 employees.
The company started out offering accident management services for people involved in non-fault road traffic accidents. This involved arranging hire cars and crash repairs to victims of road traffic accidents and pursuing injury compensation. The company became more focused on offering services to victims of all types of personal injuries, including accidents at work or injuries sustained whilst in public places.
The company went into administration in 2004; a director of the parent group Accident Advice Holdings said that this was because First National Bank, one of its financial backers, withdrew from the no-win-no-fee market following the collapse of another firm they had backed, The Accident Group. A new company, Accident Advice Helpline Direct Group Ltd, was set up.
Since 2004 the company has run the AAH Liberty Scheme. This scheme works on a no win no fee basis.
Claims Standards Council
Accident Advice's managing director, Darren Werth, is the Chairman of the Claims Standards Council, a trade body representing the industry.
Promotional campaigns
The company is endorsed by Esther Rantzen, who appears on their website and various promotional material, and also features in the AAH television advert. The company have been widely criticised for their aggressive spam email campaigns orchestrated through companies based outside of the UK which it is claimed have contributed to the nuisance caused by spam email activity and the proliferation of dubious claims.

THe advice after having a car accident is as follows:
If an accident occurs and you are driving, then you need to assess the situation and see if any of the following situations apply:
Is anyone (other than yourself) injured?
Has there been any damage caused to someone else's property, or another vehicle?
Has an animal (other than any you were transporting in your vehicle) been killed or injured (for these purposes an animal applies to a dog, pig, goat, sheep, ass, mule, horse or cattle.
If any of the above points do apply, you are legally required to stop at the scene and remain there for a reasonable period of time that will allow any people involved directly or indirectly in the accident to come to you and request your contact details.
If you are approached by anyone who has reasonable grounds for requesting your information (someone involved with the accident, or who owns property that has been damaged) then you must supply to them your contact details (name and address) and if you are driving someone else's car, then you must supply the contact details of the registered owner too.
If you don’t leave your details at the scene, then you must report the incident to a police officer or at a police station as soon as is practically possible – and in any event, within 24 hours. You can ring to advise the station that you are coming to report a road traffic accident, but it is not acceptable to report the incident over the telephone – it must be done in person.
