Arlington Heights woman identified as victim of boat accident

The body pulled from Lake Michigan nearly a month after a fatal boating incident has been identified as an Arlington Heights woman. Megan Blenner, 27, was found in the water near Navy Pier on June 28, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. An autopsy determined Blenner died of drowning from a boating accident. Her death was ruled an accident and is a "possible companion" to the death of Ashley Haws, according to the medical examiner's office.

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - More than 80 commuters were injured when two trains collided in the South African city of Durban on Tuesday, but no deaths were recorded, a spokesman from the national rail authority said. "One train went into the back of the other train, but we are still waiting for the outcome of the full investigation," a spokesman from the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa rail said. Most of the 80 injured suffered minor injuries and about 50 people went.

A man and a woman whose bodies were pulled from he Cal-Sag Channel Friday night after a boating accident have been identified, officials said Sunday. Autopsies today determined the woman, 40-year-old Viengsavnh Bielarz, of the 9200 block of West 140 th Street in Orland Park, and the man, Jeremy Muzika, 33, of Palos Hills, each died of drowning and multiple injuries from the boat striking a barge, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

A 48-year-old pedestrian was killed Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Lockport, officials said. Tina M. Douglas of Lockport was pronounced dead at 5:22 a.m. at Silver Cross Hospital, according to the Will County Coroner's office.
