On December 6, 2011 at around 9:00a.m. my husband and I left our house and headed for our local library. I was traveling westbound on US Highway 98 when a man pulled out in front of us. He was on Highway 63. He was attempting to cross Highway 98 and he did not stop at the red caution lights or look to see if traffic was coming. At 9:15a.m we were going 65 mph when we struck him (we t-boned him as they say).
We spun several times until the other driver stopped by spinning into a pole. My Chevrolet Equinox was totaled as you can see. The other drivers Jeep Wrangler didn't hold up too good. My husband and I walked away with mostly minor injuries which is really surprising. My back is still messed up but at least we're alive. The other driver stayed in the intensive care unit and then went to a nursing home. The other driver did NOT have insurance and he is an alcoholic which is making life a lot harder at the moment.
On January 21st, 2010 my friend, Nick, was driving in his red and white 1985 Chevy Silverado with his girlfriend. A tornado had sprung up in town. It was heading towards his truck. He tried to swerve and avoid it but it lifted the truck and threw it into a brick house.
The elderly couple who lived in the house walked outside later to find a sobbing girl (his girlfriend), a Silverado in their garden, and a passed out Nick in their yard. Nick didn't sustain any serious injuries and neither did his girlfriend. The elderly couple had to rebuild the front of their house and Nick's truck was totaled.

This crash occurred on the road that leads to our colony. Me and a friend were heading out to the market when he spotted this car lying on its roof on the jogging track. The crash seemed to have happened just moment ago. We stopped and I took these pictures.
We were told that three teenagers were out joy riding. This road has very light traffic but is almost straight so people drive very carelessly and fast on it. It seems that the teen at the wheel lost control when he struck the curb at a slight bend in the road. The car bounced off that curb, went side ways and struck the curb on the other side after which it rolled over, flying over the curb and knocked out two small trees and finally came to rest upside down near the fence.
Surprisingly all three people in the car escaped serious injury and thank God there was no one jogging at that time (Many people jog on that track in the evening).
So parents, please feel responsible and don`t hand over the car keys to your teens unsupervised. I doubt the guy at the wheel even had a learner`s licence.
This Story was the story of my first ever car accident just 2 months after i got my license at the age of 16! This accident scarred my life because it was my first accident and now i am 17 and have been seeing accidents on this website for years and now want to share!
This accident was with my 2004 Honda Accord in which a semi truck from Jaguar Heavy Hauling slammed into the back of my car. I had just got the car about half a year before.
I live in Jacksonville, Fl and the accident occurred in the country part of the city in Middleburg on Brannanfield rd which happens to be the busiest county road and unfortunately its a two way road and there's at least an accident a week. So when my week came around unsuspectingly in February everyone was just in shock. My accident was on February 7th, 2013 and was after a long day of school and band practice at Oakleaf High School. There was traffic ahead of me on my side of the road and a driver was trying to turn left on the other side holding up traffic. So being generous since i had to stop anyway i let him go ahead and turn. When he turned he caught my attention when he flashed his lights and pointed behind me and slammed on the gas to get out of the way. So i panicked to look in the mirror and just as i looked in the rear view mirror all i saw in a quick second was headlights and i couldn't do nothing but braced myself for what was coming. Just as i did, I was hit by a semi truck by the trucker had fell asleep at wheel carrying a full load going 60 mph in a 45. I was told that my car was totaled and was sold for $500 at a auction. When i was hit, I was hit two times and the truck was in the back seat of my car when i looked back and the semi trucks cabin was actually on top of my car where my trunk used to be! I had been pushed across the intersection and no air bags went off in my car so i was transferred to the hospital by ambulance.
The doctors when i was in the hospital said it was truly a miracle i was alive and walked away without any problems besides a sprained wrist! I do believe what the doctors said was true because its not too often at all that a person can walk away from an accident like that without life threatening injuries. Today i stand tall and play sports stronger than before!
If there was anything i would like to say to everyone out there, its not to take life for granted no matter what happens! Life can be taken away as fast as it was given to you. My sister died of a car accident a few years back just before graduating high school, Life life to its fullest and remember... A car is not a toy to text or drink and drive in.. They are machines and can kill in a matter of seconds!
A person  was the driver of this car. 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander. My girlfriend was the passenger. I call this fatigued driving because I had been awake since 7am, did yard work until 3pm, and played a show with my band around 8pm.
This happened around 1am. I blew a 0.08. Right at the legal limit for Georgia, but since I was 20, jail time was in the near future. I don't remember 30 minutes prior to the accident, everything else I can recall though. I tie that to bumping my head pretty hard during the wreck.
Seatbelts were on. Me and hisOn July 11th 2013 i had just gotten off work, was headed to my mothers to pick my son up. Left there headed home it was very rainy and nasty out this day, i was headed down HWY 55 in Dunn, Sampson county North Carolina. I had a head on collision I hydroplaned I was ejected out of the back windshield of my car where I was found 49 yards laying under a guard rail I had my 4 year old son in the car as well he only got 9 stiches in his ankle to where my injuries were a little more severe my lungs had collapsed I was internally bleeding I broke all my ribs fractured my pelvis in 3 places and almost severed my left arm away from my body. I was in the hospital 2 weeks before I was aware of me being there:
I had been on life support for 2 weeks when I was able to come around to my surrounding I had then realized I had totally lost my hearing in my left ear i now had to learn and walk again I now have half a liver and my spleen had totally exploded and no use of my left arm the dr.s are still trying to reconstruct it iv now had 4 surgeries to try and get some kind of mobility and feeling back in my arm, and under therapy and all kinds of medicines. My life has changed dramatically, I am no longer able to work and have restless days & nights, I am very limited to physical activities and the things I once did on a daily basis. Though I am very thankful and blessed the lord spared mine and my sons life that day our lives will never be the same as it once was, for our work must not be done here on earth!
girlfriend escaped with no injuries. No speeding was involved
In August 2010 me and my new husband were leaving Harding Lake, Salcha, Alaska.
It was about 2 in the afternoon. Really warm and sunny. The traffic was flowing well, lots of people out. I was driving and my husband sat beside me. All of a sudden I hear him yell "look out".. Too late, coming around the back of a truck hauling a trailer was a big moose, no time what so ever to stop. It clipped the drivers side bumper flipped up, landing on my husbands lap, flip off of him and thrown over the back of my car. Glad to say we had very minor injuries, unfortunately for the suicidal moose it's fate was not the same. As the metal strip on the top of my car had ripped it's insides out, it sat, yes sat like a dog on the side of the road, when out of no where a man gets out and shoots the moose. We had the best ride home ever. No windshield, and the rain started to poor, We had 30 miles to drive like that. Laughing all the way.. We did manage to get quite a lot of stares and honks. Thanks for sharing. Kellie A
Howdy, I’m Jared, and I’ve been reading your site for years upon years; now, I finally have something to submit.  During the spring/summer of 2011, we had terrible luck in terms of cars.  Both my parents wrecked their cars, and one was lucky to be alive.
My dad wrecked his 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer first on 21 April 2011; it was a minor 15-MPH fender bender in a bar parking lot.  He was slightly inebriated, and since the Corpus Christi Police Department doesn’t respond to parking lot incidents, he was lucky not to have been slapped with a DUI.  The photos included are of the damage after the fact, which may not look too bad, but all told it was exactly $6,005.00 in the body shop when he got it back forty-five days later.  The hood, fenders, bumper, grille, both headlights, radiator, and radiator supports needed to be replaced (strangely, the fog lights were still healthy).  The truck had 124k miles when it was wrecked, and a few more repairs later, still runs strong today at 172k miles.
However, my mom wasn’t so lucky on 9 July 2011.  She was driving down Windward Drive on North Padre Island in her 2004 Saturn Ion doing about 40-MPH when she blew through a stop sign and caused a four-car collision.  There was no airbag deployment whatsoever in her car, even though she was hit on the front and side.  However, it was just as well that the airbags didn’t deploy, because instead of receiving the concussion that she did from hitting the A-pillar, she would have been dead due to the short distance that she sits from the airbag.  The only thing she remembers about the collision to this day is recalling that the driver’s side glass was completely shattered.  What’s more, she did not have full coverage (she had paid the car off two years prior), so she was not able to do anything except watch the other crash victims lawyer up and attack her insurance for the injuries.  Eventually, she did replace this car with a 2012 Chevy Impala in Victory Red, but she is eerily cautious about her driving now.
The morals that I’ve learned from my parents?  Don’t drink and drive and don’t let your attention lapse.
I drive now, and I let those apply every day.  Hopefully, my 1999 Chevy Tahoe doesn’t end up on your galleries.
God Bless,
Jared H.
